Goings on at Alcester Fest. 03/11/07

You may or you may not be aware of the amount of work and effort that goes into organising a festival. There are of course myriad things that need doing.

Along with that there are people needed who have the appropriate skills to actually complete these tasks. To run an effective festival a skilled motivated team is needed, From concept to tidying up it all need planning co-ordination and hard work. There are physical aspects to any event of this kind that can only be dealt with by people who are willing to put in the time and their skills without pay.

The satisfaction we gain from doing this is measured in the feedback we get from festival goers. Feedback is a valuable source of information so don't be shy let us know what we can improve.

The first shouts about the website content have been received and corrected, hopefully no one was permanently injured as a result and the work continues, Check back often as I will be adding content regularly.

Even More Happenings on 20/11/07

Well it has started to come together, the sleep over is taking shape and the offers of help are rolling in. I know we clash with some other events on that weekend but, it can't be helped.

The friends of the festival have stepped forward to be counted as have all of the festival committee. Hopefully the businesses in the town will actually contribute, time will tell.

The Folkie Sleepover Reprise

Well, it all went as planned and feedback is that everyone had a good time. There were faces old and new, and of course the organisers and stewards worked their tails off .

Indications are that now we're in with a fighting chance. The main festival for this year is assured, so as usual it is in the lap of the gods as to whether the weather will conspire to spoil our event. Apparently the monsoon was a once in 200 years event. Weren't we lucky to witness it.

Special thanks must go to the stewards under the able leadership of Chris Stroud, I did not envy them their lonely all night vigil at the indoor camping part of the venue. Thanks to you we had a safe time. Good stewarding is noticable by its low key presence. Nice job Chris.
